The Certificate IV in Project Management Practice is designed to set you up to effectively work in teams to successfully deliver projects. The successful delivery of a project depends on all stages of the process running smoothly with all team members pulling in the same direction and working to the same timelines.
In this course we will take you through how to scope projects more effectively to set yourself, and your team, up for success right from the very beginning. Beyond that we will cover time and quality management to give you the skills to manage stakeholders and define clear timelines for projects, as well as make sure everyone is happy with the end result.
This course is made up of 9 units of competency. This includes 3 core units to cover all the essentials and 6 elective units picked to give you the most desired skills in the market.
The proper scoping of a project is vital to a successful delivery. This unit covers how to assist in the identification of objectives, deliverables, and desired outcomes of a project.
Managing time within a project ensures deadlines are met and projects are delivered on schedule. Here we will cover how to apply and monitor project schedules and assess the time management of a project.
Here we cover how to impact project outcomes by contributing to quality planning, applying quality assurance, and contributing to continuous improvement in projects.
This unit covers how to assist in producing a project budget, to monitor project expenditure and contribute to cost finalisation processes once a project is complete.
This unit covers aspects of risk management in a project. Including planning for, controlling and reviewing risks.
The success of a project often relies on managing stakeholder relationships. This involves ensuring timely and appropriate communication and the involvement of key individuals to maintain buy in during a project.
Here we cover how to assist procurement for a project. It involves identifying procurement requirements, assisting with supplier selection, and conducting procurement activities.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor an organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs. Making sure you stay in line with all legislation and regulations.
Helping your team develop and work at their best is a key part of management. This unit will cover how to determine individual and teams’ development needs and how to support them through that development.
If you’re day to day is working on the delivery of projects for your employer, this course will give you the skills to work smoother and calmer to deliver projects on time and budget.

This delivery mode will also allow you to undertake self-directed learning activities in your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator. Once you have had the opportunity to apply your learnings into the workplace, you will be required to undertake a final assessment workbook that incorporates a set of tasks for completion. These tasks may include written questions, projects, or simulated tasks.
Similar to Face to Face, but in an online platform, we will have regular scheduled training sessions facilitated by highly qualified professional trainers covering.
This delivery mode will enable you to still have the benefit of a live class environment, and the ability to undertake self-directed learning activities into your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator.
Once you have had the opportunity to apply your learnings into the workplace, you will be required to undertake a final assessment workbook that incorporates a set of tasks for completion. These tasks may include written questions, projects, and simulated tasks.
This option may suit individuals who can attend some but not all of the face-to-face sessions described above and are happy to do some of the course via distance.

There are no entry requirements stated in the Training Package rules for Certificate IV in Project Management Practice (BSB40920), however, participants must be over 18 years of age.
In addition, participants will be required to undertake a Learning, Literacy and Numeracy Quiz upon enrolment. This course requires participants to be at a ACSF Level 4, and The Change Network may inform you that the course may not be suited to your needs after this quiz. The quiz covers the core skills of learning, reading, writing, oral communications, and numeracy.
