BSB40420 Certificate IV in Human Resource Management

The Certificate IV in Human Resources Management is designed for people working in a range of different human resource roles or looking to consolidate their HR experience. If you are working as an HR office, coordinator or payroll officer there are valuable skills to be gained from this course.

Overview

This course is made up of 12 units of competency. This includes 6 core units to cover all the essentials and 6 elective units picked to give you the most desired skills in the market.
Core Units

BSBHRM411 Administer performance development processes

In this unit we cover how to implement performance development systems for an organisation to help improve and manage employee performance.

BSBHRM412 Support employee and industrial relations

This unit covers the skills required to communicate and implement employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) policies and procedures to effectively represent organisations and employers.

BSBHRM413 Support the learning and development of teams and individuals

Clear development plans help get the best out of employees and can reduce churn when people have an understanding of how they can progress within an organisation. This unit will give you the skills to design and implement development plans for your teams.

BSBHRM415 Coordinate recruitment and onboarding

Finding the right people for roles in your business can be difficult. This unit will show you how to find candidates, asses their potential and suitability for the role and successfully onboard them.

BSBHRM417 Support human resource functions and processes

This unit covers the background knowledge required to support work across a range of human resource functions to give you a well-rounded base in HR.

BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor an organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs. Making sure you stay in line with all legislation and regulations.

Elective Units

BSBCMM412 Lead difficult conversations

You will often be required to have tough conversations with people within your business. Knowing how to prepare, facilitate and lead difficult conversations sets you up to minimise any potential backlash and move conversations in a productive direction.

BSBHRM528 Coordinate remuneration and employee benefits

This unit covers how to design an organisation’s remuneration and benefits plans. It incorporates all areas associated with remuneration, including packaging, salary benchmarking, market rate reviews, bonuses and the legislative aspects of remuneration and employee benefits.

BSBHRM531 Coordinate health and wellness programs

Looking after the health and wellbeing of an organisations employees is a key function of Human Resources. Here we will cover how to coordinate programs with a health and wellbeing focus. This includes programs that would typically be associated with health and wellbeing such as stress management, smoking cessation, exercise and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).

BSBOPS403 Apply business risk management processes

Here we will cover how to identify potential areas of risk for your business and how to design risk management processes to effectively mitigate the risk.

BSBPMG430 Undertake project work

This unit covers how to undertake a minor project or a section of a larger project. Beginning with developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the outcomes to identify learnings to apply in the future.

BSBHRM529 Coordinate separation and termination processes

In this unit we will cover how to coordinate redeployment, resignation, retirement, dismissal and redundancy in your organisation. As well as key tasks within those processes like how to conduct exit interviews.

Delivery Mode

Face to Face

Regular scheduled training sessions facilitated by highly qualified, professional trainers.

This delivery mode will also allow you to undertake self-directed learning activities in your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator. Once you have had the opportunity to apply your learnings into the workplace, you will be required to undertake a final assessment workbook that incorporates a set of tasks for completion. These tasks may include written questions, projects, or simulated tasks.

Online

Similar to Face to Face, but in an online platform, we will have regular scheduled training sessions facilitated by highly qualified professional trainers covering.

This delivery mode will enable you to still have the benefit of a live class environment, and the ability to undertake self-directed learning activities into your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator.

Once you have had the opportunity to apply your learnings into the workplace, you will be required to undertake a final assessment workbook that incorporates a set of tasks for completion. These tasks may include written questions, projects, and simulated tasks.

Blended

This option may suit individuals who can attend some but not all of the face-to-face sessions described above and are happy to do some of the course via distance .

This delivery mode will enable you to still have the benefit of a live class environment, and the ability to undertake self-directed learning activities into your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator.
