BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business

The Certificate IV in Business will make you a more effective worker and leader for whatever business you work in. We will give you an understanding of business processes, how to use technology to make you or your business more effective, and how to successfully communicate in the workplace. 

By completing this course, you give yourself and your business a leg up on the competition with a solid grounding in the core skills that are required to succeed in business. These skills are also easily transferable so set you up for success now but will also be relevant for whatever path your business or career takes in the future.

Overview

This course is made up of 12 units of competency. This includes 6 core units to cover all the essentials and 6 elective units picked to give you the most desired skills in the market.
Core Units

BSBCRT411 Apply critical thinking to work practices

Critical thinking is key to success in business and sets you up to tackle new problems when they come along. This unit will take you through the skills required to approach problems critically and take them in your stride

BSBTEC404 Use digital technologies to collaborate in a work environment

Working efficiently often requires the use of technology, this unit will teach you the value of common workplace technologies, including an understanding of the technology requirements for remote working.

BSBTWK401 Build and maintain business relationships

Building and maintaining working relationships is a skill in itself. Often overlooked this unit will take you through the skills required to manage relationships right from establishing them, negotiating skills and maintaining networks.

BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor an organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs. Making sure you stay in line with all legislation and regulations.

BSBWRT411 Write complex documents

Communicating complex information clearly is hard. This unit will take you through how to plan, draft and finalise documents to make sure they get across the information they need to in a way that can be easily understood by different stakeholders.

BSBXCM401 Apply communication strategies in the workplace

Clear communication by supervisors is essential to creating effective teams. This unit covers the skills required for communication between supervisors and their teams to keep everything running smoothly and drive impact.

BSBPEF502 Develop and use emotional intelligence

Emotional Intelligence in an undervalued skill in most workplaces. The value of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management can have a drastic impact on the time autonomy of teams and individuals boosting efficiency in business.

BSBPEF402 Develop personal work priorities

Managing and prioritising tasks can help reduce stress and boost productivity at work. This course will give you the skills to review your work tasks, properly prioritise and effectively plan your work.

BSBOPS402 Coordinate operational plan

This unit focuses on how to implement operational plans. We will look at the different planning and monitoring skills and how to adjust requirements to assist in achieving your business objectives.

BSBMKG433 Undertake marketing activities

This unit covers how to plan, coordinate and review marketing activities. You will gain an understanding of general marketing principles and how they impact your business.

BSBOPS404 Implement customer service strategies

Here we will cover the skills and knowledge required to advise, implement and evaluate customer service strategies to improve your customer satisfaction.

BSBSTR402 Implement continuous improvement

This unit will require you to implement continuous improvement systems and processes within your organisation. This includes using systems and strategies to encourage your teams to participate in the process; monitoring and reviewing performance, and identifying opportunities for further. improvements.

Delivery Mode

Face to Face

Regular scheduled training sessions facilitated by highly qualified, professional trainers.

This delivery mode will also allow you to undertake self-directed learning activities in your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator. Once you have had the opportunity to apply your learnings into the workplace, you will be required to undertake a final assessment workbook that incorporates a set of tasks for completion. These tasks may include written questions, projects, or simulated tasks.

Online

Similar to Face to Face, but in an online platform, we will have regular scheduled training sessions facilitated by highly qualified professional trainers covering.

This delivery mode will enable you to still have the benefit of a live class environment, and the ability to undertake self-directed learning activities into your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator.

Once you have had the opportunity to apply your learnings into the workplace, you will be required to undertake a final assessment workbook that incorporates a set of tasks for completion. These tasks may include written questions, projects, and simulated tasks.

Blended

This option may suit individuals who can attend some but not all of the face-to-face sessions described above and are happy to do some of the course via distance.

This delivery mode will enable you to still have the benefit of a live class environment, and the ability to undertake self-directed learning activities into your workplace and receive support and feedback from your facilitator.

Entry Requirements

Requirements

There are no entry requirements stated in the Training Package rules for BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business, however, participants must be at least 18 years of age.

In addition, participants will be required to undertake a Learning, Literacy and Numeracy Quiz upon enrolment. This course requires participants to be at a ACSF Level 4, and The Change Network may inform you that the course may not be suited to your needs after this quiz. The quiz covers the core skills of learning, reading, writing, oral communications, and numeracy.
